As your newly elected President, I am excited about the future of
the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra. This is the beginning of our
eleventh year, and we continue to improve in talent and repertoire.
While new to this area, I am not new to fine classical music.
My wife and I have enjoyed the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for over
30 years. When we moved to Northern Michigan in 2009, we wondered
how we would fill this musical void in our lives? We were delighted to
discover the GLCO!
It's hard to believe that it was over 10 years ago when a small
group of dedicated musicians conceived the idea of creating a regional chamber orchestra.
Yet season after season, the GLCO has grown from a collection of eager musicians to a
premiere community orchestra.
Our programs feature world-class soloists, a fantastic venue, and reasonable ticket prices.
Whether you are interested in performing with us, simply enjoying our performances, or being
a regular subscriber, we welcome you into our family, and hope you will join us to help keep
music alive in our community.
