The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra is made up of 52 instrumentalists and 42 chorus members from our local communities and throughout Michigan consistently performing on an artistic level comparable to many larger orchestras. The GLCO has received recognition at the local, state and national level and our concert attendance has increased 23% in 2012. However, the money we receive from ticket sales pays for only 25% of the cost of presenting our concerts. Therefore, we depend on membership donations, grants, and sponsorships.
The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra’s high quality, live orchestral and choral music performances enhance the quality of life in our wonderful Northern Michigan community. There are very few small communities that can boast such a professional group of musicians that bring us “World Class Music Right Here at Home". We have more musicians wanting to perform with us than we have spaces available. The GLCO is an essential part of why our northern community is considered one of the “best places to live" – adding to the quality of life for our families and your broader community.
Your support of this organization at any level is important – whether it is buying tickets for a performance, supporting at the membership level, seeking individual sponsorship/corporate sponsorship or as an advertiser in our seasonal program booklet.
Please consider making a financial contribution that will help our future and continue our Mission – to provide live orchestral music that entertains, educates and inspires our northern Michigan community.
